„Michel Foucault y el poder“ de Gilles Deleuze




Michel Foucault y Gilles Deleuze se conocieron en 1952: Foucault impartía una conferencia y Deleuze, por entonces profesor de instituto, fue a escucharlo; cenaron juntos con un amigo común y no hablaron mucho. Un encuentro glacial y poco prometedor que, sin embargo, fue el origen de una de las amistades filosóficas más intensas del siglo xx, en virtud de la cual tanto Foucault le prestaba a Deleuze su apartamento en París como ambos discutían hasta la extenuación y, si hacía falta, se retiraban la palabra durante años.
No obstante, la profunda y mutua admiración se mantuvo siempre intacta, y tal vez por ello, pocos meses después de la muerte de Foucault, Deleuze decidió rendirle homenaje iniciando unos cursos universitarios sobre su obra. Las clases tuvieron lugar en el Departamento de Filosofía de la Universidad de París 8, que ambos habían creado juntos en 1968, negándose a realizar exámenes y a establecer calificaciones (la universidad les retiró la posibilidad de conceder diplomas, pero a nadie le importó). Mejor contexto imposible, por tanto, para impartir un seminario sobre la teoría del poder de Michel Foucault, inédito hasta la fecha en nuestra lengua, y cuya primera parte presentamos ahora. En él Deleuze expone, analiza, escudriña e interpreta la noción de «poder» propuesta por Foucault, su relación indisociable con la de «saber» y su importancia radical para entender las nuevas teorías y prácticas de lucha y resistencia que se han hecho presentes en nuestro mundo desde finales de los años sesenta, y cuyo ciclo se reactiva en nuestros días.
